Stephen King's Insomnia

So I don't sleep...OK, so I sleep a bit, maybe 2-3 hours a night but that's it and has been that way for years. I have taken numerous sleeping aids which help me sleep for about half an hour at a time and then I am awake again. Very frustrating! But, I have chosen to use it to my advantage and take the awake time to blog about the random musings that occur in my head while laying there po'd that I am not sleeping. The title The Witty Insomniac just popped in my head and did a quick Google search for it and did not find anyone else using it.

What does the title of this post mean? I have read the book Insomnia by Stephen King. Now, keep in mind I don't sleep so my memory is not entirely the best but I seem to remember the main character slowing getting less and less sleep every day. He begins to see things that he shouldn't...like people who, sleepers cannot see, effecting change, either good or bad, on other people. Not a very good description but you get my point I hope...if not, go on to Amazon.com. Is this happening to me? Uh...no...sometimes I wish it did, at least being awake would have a purpose!

I think it was Rumi who has written that if you wake early, do not go back to sleep. Wayne Dyer suggests getting up. Why not? The office here is far enough away that I should not wake anyone with my typing on the keyboard...so what the heck!

Expect some crazy thoughts to come out of this brain of mine! But not right now as it is still early and light out...who knows maybe this newest sleeping aid will help. Makes me sympathetic to Michael Jackson and Heath Ledger. To not sleep for a long period of time is torture, plain and simple!

See you in the early hours!
